About Me
Hi, I’m Shannon the designer behind SM Creation Lab.
I created SM Creation Lab as a space to explore thoughtful, user-centered design through a structured and intentional process. My work focuses on solving real problems especially for users who may feel overwhelmed or overlooked in digital environments.
I am a student studying UX and web design. What drew me to UX was learning about how people use digital products and how design can enhance their experience. Through my previous career in customer service and management, I gained a lot of empathy for users and how to identify issues and troubleshoot efficient solutions. I have a logical mindset and love getting my hands dirty working through the entire design process. I am currently learning more about research, UX strategy, and visual design as I work to become a UX generalist.
My customer service background also greatly influences my thoughts on usability and accessibility. When working in customer facing jobs, you often need to quickly assess what the person needs, understand their frustration, and direct them toward a solution. That kind of work carries over into how I like to design. I hope that when people use the products I design, they feel welcomed, understand how to use the product, and can find helpful solutions when they encounter problems.

This certification focused on applying the full UX design process to real-world challenges, with an emphasis on creating meaningful and accessible solutions. I developed skills in research, ideation, and iterative design while working on projects aimed at improving user experiences for diverse communities. This work strengthened my ability to design with empathy and purpose.

This certification emphasized the importance of understanding user behavior through research and testing. I gained hands-on experience creating surveys, conducting usability studies, and analyzing feedback to guide design decisions. It reinforced my ability to identify user needs and refine solutions based on real insights.
UI Development for Web

This certification focused on building responsive, interactive user interfaces for modern websites. I applied front-end principles to create designs that are both visually engaging and functional across devices. It strengthened my ability to connect UX thinking with practical web implementation.
